gempex has been involved in the Hochschule Mannheim - University of Applied Sciences since 2008. Be it through membership of the Biotechnology Advisory Board of Ralf Gengenbach, Managing Director of gempex GmbH, or through the annual sponsorship of several scholarships from the associations„German Public-Private Scholarship“ and „Mannheimer Modell Mittelstandsstipendium“ to specifically support students.

On June 26, this year's gempex scholarship holder meeting took place at the Mannheim location as part of the Mannheimer Modell Mittelstandsstipendium scholarships. In addition to a presentation of gempex as a company, the five participants - scholarship holders from previous years - were given an insight into the world of an international GMP consulting company in the life sciences industry. 

The motto of the event was "Pharma is the Future". In a relaxed atmosphere, Anika Pasing, Consultant, Dr. Ralf Aubeck, Principal Consultant, Manuel Kress, Senior Consultant and Dominik Unglaub, Consultant at the gempex Sisseln site in Switzerland, reported on their day-to-day work in various projects. The management team was accompanied by Peter Bappert, Managing Director, Tim Ohlrich, Manager GMP Compliance Projects, and Thomas Raaf, Manager Onsite Execution.

The following questions, among others, were answered:

1. What exactly are the high quality standards in the pharmaceutical industry and what does this mean for employment in this environment?
2. What previous experience do applicants to gempex need to have?
3. What kind of jobs are there in this environment, what are the tasks and what are the general requirements for employees?
4. What are the career and development opportunities?
5. What about workplace security and values such as work-life balance?

The insight into the gempex project "Medicinal Cannabis - from the Flower to the Can" met with particular interest. The subject is particularly suitable for demonstrating the topicality and manifold nature of the fields of activity in GMP. It also appeals to the audience on its own.

This was followed by an intensive discussion with all those involved, during which the scholarship holders' questions were answered in detail. An all-round successful event.
