On 13th and 14th of October 2022, the VIP3000 (Verein Interessensgemeinschaft Pharmabau) had his annual meeting in Hamburg, Germany. It was a special meeting, as the association also was celebrating it’s 25th anniversary. VIP3000 is a collaboration of more than 60 famous suppliers for the pharmaceutical industry, including clean room construction, architects, measurement instrument suppliers, automation engineers and many more. The topic on the meeting was “Reinvent the future”, considering, where the future related to technology is going to.

A first interesting speech was given by Prof. Dr. Przewloka, a pioneer in computer technology, involved in developing the http internet protocol, long time working with SAP and now having his own science institute working on future technologies. In his impressive speech he has shown e.g., the ranking of nations regarding digitalization and the general pathway of technology development. But he also expressed, that actually the pipeline for real new innovations is empty.

A further exciting speech was given by Drees & Sommer, a famous construction managing company, talking about sustainability and how do constructions in future for this aspect. A robodoc – a robot – was explained and shown by video, how he is walking through the buildings under construction and do automatically every night a 3-D measuring of the progress of construction.

On the second day, the participants visited the “Discovery Dock”, an establishment which provides the possibility to explore Hamburg and his harbor virtually with 3-D AR glasses. One way, in future maybe journeys will take place.

The meeting was organized and managed beside others by Ralf Gengenbach, president of VIP3000 already since 2013.
